Serufuli
(ser-EH-fuh-lee)
Female
Born: 2003
Rescued: 2005

Confiscated near Goma in eastern DRC in 2005, Serufuli was named after a North Kivu, DRC governor. She was between two and three years of age when she was rescued. Serefuli was cared for briefly in Goma before being moved to Rwanda to join the Grauer’s gorillas being rehabilitated there. She then came to GRACE as part of the second large group arriving in July 2011.
Serufuli is kind and will carry young gorillas. She fits in very well with the group at GRACE and likes to spend time by her good friend Pinga. Serefuli is a beautiful gorilla who is described by the care staff as looking “like a circle” (that is, round!).
